Many tipis have a vent to allow the flue of a stove to pass through the fabric.

The Topi sleeve is placed in the flue at the correct height for it to pass partially through the fabric, giving separation between the hot flue and tipi. The fins also aid air circulation within the tent, limiting the build-up of carbon dioxide.
